The Böllerschiessen

4 June @ 08:30 - 17:00

This time, we will take advantage of the public holiday to gather in the morning and experience a unique local event: the Böllerschiessen, the traditional firing of cannons held in the village each year during the Corpus Christi (Fronleichnam) celebration.

Dating back to the late 16th century, the tradition once existed throughout Zug and today survives only in Walchwil and Unterägeri.

We will meet at the Usseregg playground at 8:30 AM. The firing of the cannons will go on until 10 AM. Then we can all go and enjoy the long weekend with our families.

The morning will also include a private Kona coffee tasting with a coffee expert. Grown on the volcanic slopes of Hawaii’s Big Island, Kona is among the world’s most prized coffees, valued for its exceptional smoothness and rarity. Croissants from the Michelin-starred chef behind Restaurant Magdalena in Schwyz will accompany the tasting.
